Do not stand at my grave
and weep:
I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds
that blow;
I am the diamond glints on
snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened
grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the
morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that
shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave
and cry.
I am not there;
I did not die.

In Loving Memory...James Wier

Today, my aunt died of cancer. I loved her very much. She was like a mom to me. My cousin, her daughter, asked if I would read some scripture & maybe a poem at her funeral. I am so grateful that God directed me here. I can't even imagine experiencing the pain that you must have felt. Through all of that, you have created something that many other grieving people can find some solace from. God bless you and your family.

I was looking for something to help with the loss of my daughter Molly. I found the poem "Life's Weaving" and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so very much for this site. It is comforting to know you are not alone even with so many people around you all the time.

God bless you and your family. I have a 4 year old son, and I cannot even begin to imagine what you have gone through. Thank you for the advice on mentioning the departed loved one. I had a cousin die back in 1998, he was 17. I think about him periodically, and I guess I need to let his parents and grandparents know that. Thank you.

dear mom,
your story is heartwrenching. you are so blessed to be a christian and understand that your son is actually in a better place. as many others who have signed your guestbook, i found your website by accident. i lost my baby daughter at 35 weeks gestation (just two weeks before she was scheduled to be induced). this was on new years eve (ironically) 2005.
i was hoping to find a way to give my father-in-law a special gift for her and typed in bible, comfort, death and your website was the first one that popped up. i was looking for a comforting bible verse to add to a shadowbox for him! our stories are so very different, yet i can very much understand your anguish and the racing thoughts. i have taken comfort in knowing that God's plan is perfect and i trust in Him.
thank you so much for your website and for sharing your story. it has lifted my up and helped me immeasurably,

thankfully,
heidi

I went to highschool with James. We didn't know each other very well. I still remember him on his Angel day.

I was looking for scripture to comfort a couple whose 2 year old son recently passed away. God placed your website before me and I'm so blessed to have read your story. I'm sorry for the pain you went through and the empty space in your heart. God bless you and your family.

I am so sorry about your loss. I just stumbled across it, because I am a minister trying to find some more comfort scriptrues and this is what I found. I will continue to pray with you and your family. God is able. I have not been through this type of loss before, but I have lost other relatives and a pastor and friends.

God bless you is my prayer,
Love minister Turner

I "stumbled" upon your website while looking for an image in Google. I read it all...thank you for sharing your experience. The love for your son shines through. I am a Christian Counselor and I know that you draw comfort from knowing Whose he is ... and where he is now! I cannot imagine a worse pain for a Christian parent than uncertainty of the eternal destiny of their child. Blessings to you..

I was searching for inspirational bible verses to send my friend who's mom just found out she had cancer and I found your site. My heart breaks for you! I am so glad that you have God to help you through all of this tough years. I have experienced the loss of my father through cancer and then in 2005 I lost my baby brother and mother in a car accident together. But none of those losses can come near the pain of loosing a child. Keep up the faith. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was looking further into the web and came across Brittany's daddy. If only we could look now like we did then so young and skinny.
